Should K-12 public schools be teaching Gender Ideology?

Here are a few quotes from an LA Times article on the rise in Gender Dysphoria diagnosis:

Are these the words of a transphobic bigot?

Only if Erica Anderson, a 71-year-old biological male who identifies as female and a transgender psychologist, is a transphobic bigot.

Are the educators, who believe that teaching Gender Ideology does no harm, more qualified than Anderson to make these determinations?

Ultimately, should public education employees who are not licensed clinicians affirm adolescent self-diagnosis of Gender Dysphoria? This generally leads to the students being referred to medical professionals who fail to subject minors to the rigorous mental health evaluations needed in order for an accurate diagnosis before recommending hormones or surgeries. This feels like a revolving door with no oversight.

It is time to stop affirming practices that make adults feel good about themselves but put students at risk for mental and physical harm. These conversations are the ones that need to be happening in the hemispheres surrounding public schools. They impact our students and therefore deserve, at minimum, honest dialogue without inaccurate labeling and slandering of people as “transphobic.”

Who Is Trying to Ban Books?

An online petition was started, there was support from the ACLU, and Target even pulled Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters By Abigail Shrier for a short time. Why would Shrier’s book need to be banned? Shrier’s book is looking at the same social contagion that Anderson is.
